About Our Founder - Brett A. Sciotto

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and former Army Intelligence Officer, Brett Sciotto began his career in government and politics at an early age. Serving as a White House intern on the Vice President's National Performance Review staff, he quickly developed an appreciation for the power of politics, the challenges of governing, and the need to replace growing bureaucracies with sound management principles. As an Army Captain in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Brett honed his leadership skills and developed an acute understanding of organizational structure and function. This understanding allowed him to restructure and refocus electronic warfare and intelligence gathering units making them more effective and efficient on the battlefield. He quickly became renowned in the 101st Airborne Division for being an innovative leader who challenged conventional wisdom and dramatically enhanced the capabilities of the units he led.

Upon completing his tour of duty with the Army, Brett transitioned to civilian life and was immediately asked to manage a mayoral challenger campaign in adjacent Clarksville, Tennessee - now the 9th fastest growing city in the nation. He developed a campaign strategy and platform, and led his candidate to victory, defeating a twelve-year incumbent Mayor. Brett's interest in government and politics continued to grow and he would go on to serve as City Chief of Staff in Clarksville and Chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party before returning to his home state of Ohio. 

Brett recognized that our nation needed more principled and high-character leaders who were willing to run and serve as elected officials at all levels of government.  In 2001, he launched American Strategies, LLC; a Columbus, Ohio based firm providing public opinion research and strategic campaign advice to Republican candidates and elected officials across the nation.  Brett has assembled an expert team of consultants who together have hundreds of political victories and governmental successes that allow American Strategies to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to any campaign or organization.

While finding tremendous success advising campaigns and governments at all levels from U.S. Senate to City Council, Brett maintains a special interest in serving his local community.  Brett currently serves as President of the Hilliard City Council, a suburb of Columbus where he resides.  He is also an elected member of the Franklin County Republican Party Central Committee and a Board Member of the Midwest Chapter of the American Association of Political Consultants.  

Named a 2007 ‘Rising Star’ by Politics Magazine, Brett is a featured speaker at national political conferences and is frequently published in trade journals and quoted in the national press.  He is a private pilot and an entrepreneur who enjoys flying, traveling and incubating innovative business concepts.  Brett is a member of St. Brendan's Roman Catholic Church.

In 2011, Brett was named to Columbus Business First's Forty Under 40 list.
